In case you were wondering, because so many of our patrons enjoy this service, ComCat is taking a “pause” but will be back in September. With over 350 member libraries at varying stages of opening it make take some time to get back to full speed. We appreciate your understanding and will keep you posted.
CLAMS is proud to introduce the new CLAMS Library Network app! Available for iOS and Android, this app has a broad range of features and functions that will make your library experience a whole lot simpler.
Our app makes it easy to browse our collection, get details on items, make a selection, place a hold for later pickup, and even renew items previously checked out. You can check out eBooks and eAudiobooks with the touch of a button, then listen to them in the Libby or OverDrive app.
If you’re on the go and searching for the nearest CLAMS library, check out the Library Info feature, which shows location addresses and hours nearest to you with links to their websites. We’ve also added our Featured Lists so you can browse Top Requests, Coming Soon titles or New York Times Bestsellers and request the ones you want.
The Manage Accounts tool lets you add multiple library cards — a great feature for families! Don’t have a library card? Request one through the app.
Available now in the App Store and Google Play Search for the CLAMS Library Network to download to your mobile device.
This app replaces the current app which is no longer supported as of May 1
Massachusetts Library Networks bring you LEA, a new and innovative way to gain access to more eBooks and audiobooks. Powered by OverDrive, LEA makes it possible for you to borrow eContent in all Massachusetts networks regardless of your home library.
Don’t see the title your looking for in the CLAMS’s OverDrive collection? Use your library card to sign in to another library network and find it there. Click here for more information and helpful instructions.
Library buildings are closed, but library services are still running! CLAMS libraries are offering many free virtual programs over the next few months. This calendar can help you find them – all in one place. There may be events not listed here so check your home library’s website for complete listings.
Do you wish you had longer to read or listen to that ebook? OverDrive offers three different lending periods for materials. Log in to your account, then go to My Account, then choose Settings. There you can choose the default lending period that works best for you. If you finish early, simply return the book in “Loans”. Items already checked out will not change, but future loans will default to these settings. Change them anytime.
Miss the gym? These new workout videos on OverDrive will help you stay or get back in the groove. No waiting, start anytime! You’ll just need your CLAMS card and PIN to get started. https://clamsnet.overdrive.com/collection/1058285

*** September 25 – When we decided to end support for OverDrive for Mac, we failed to appropriately gauge the number of users that would be impacted and how. We are sorry for this mistake and the inconvenience it caused.
As a result, we are working as quickly as possible to restore the download option for MP3 audiobooks to users running macOS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) through 10.14 (Mojave). Once restored, the following message will appear for Mac users on your OverDrive website with a link to an updated Help article: MP3 audiobooks are only supported on macOS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) through 10.14 (Mojave). These updates will be made by October 2.
Users who upgrade to the newest MacOS Catalina will not be able to download and transfer MP3 audiobooks from OverDrive. Those users can listen to audiobooks in their browser, or depending on their device compatibility, install the OverDrive or Libby app (for public libraries) or the Sora app (for schools) directly on their device to listen to audiobooks.
Previously – An important notice for those using OverDrive for Mac to listen to audiobooks on their computer. Please be aware this ONLY affects those who use the OverDrive program on their Mac computers, not those who use tablets or phones: “Due to upcoming macOS changes, and to simplify the user experience, OverDrive will soon end support for OverDrive for Mac. Effective September 4, 2019, OverDrive for Mac will no longer be available for download and Mac users will no longer see the option to download audiobook titles at your OverDrive website. Instead, Mac users can enjoy audiobooks using OverDrive Listen from your digital library website, or try Libby on their smart phone or tablet. Any users with audiobooks already downloaded to OverDrive for Mac will retain access to their downloads for the remainder of the lending period, provided they have not yet updated to macOS 10.15 (Catalina). Though we anticipate minimal user impact, OverDrive Help will be updated to assist with user support.”
