How does the Ratings feature work?

The Ratings program allows CLAMS library patrons to rate titles from 1 to 5 stars, based on their impression of the item. Anyone searching the catalog can see the ratings that people have given a book, but only patrons who log into My Account have the ability to rate an item.  Gold stars appear for items you have already rated.  Blue stars indicate items that have been rated by other users. Hover your mouse over any of your ratings to find out what others have rated the same item  White stars or stars with question marks are unrated items. Log in and be the first one to give your opinion.

If you begin by logging in before searching the catalog:

You will only need to click on the star that corresponds to your rating choice.
For example to give a title 5 stars, click on the rightmost star.
Once you have indicated a rating, the stars will turn gold to indicate that you have already rated the material.
To review the ratings that you have submitted:

  • While logged in, click on “View My Account” at the top of the screen.
  • Click on the “My Ratings” button.
  • You will see (and have the option to edit) the ratings you have submitted on our site.
